Radio Site Decommissioning

Decommissioning of microwave radio equipment is carried out by Rapid Wireless using our qualified and Certified Engineering and Rigging teams. The equipment is carefully removed, and is put into storage, recycled, or disposed of in accordance with the WEEE Directive. Complete cleansing of sensitive data from all equipment prior to disposition is assured.

Decommissioning of microwave radio equipment can free up space on masts, pylons and buildings, with a saving of site-share costs and OFCOM charges. Sometimes the antenna fixings and cabling are left in situ for future installations, as agreed by the mast or building managers.

Additionally, Rapid carries stocks of re-cycled spares and is able to source a wide range of licensed and un-licensed microwave communications spares for legacy networks that still need to be maintained.
